Hey folks. I hope you are all well and that 2014 has been good to you so far. I figured it was about time for a quick update from me. It’s been a promising start to the year, and firstly I’d like to thank all of you who have bought a copy of my debut album ‘Small Town Thinking’ already…I hope you’re enjoying it! The reviews have been coming in, and they have made for very enjoyable reading indeed. I’m also delighted to be featured in the current issue of ‘The Blues Magazine’ as “one to watch for 2014”, and the album tracks have been getting plenty of plays on both local, national and international radio too.
Last month I had the great pleasure of accompanying my good friend, singer and the producer of my album, Alan West, as he recorded a live session with Bob Harris at Radio 2. It was a real honour to be a part of this, and along with our mate Dean Barnes on guitar we accompanied Alan on three live tracks…and had a blast getting to hang out at the BBC for a few hours! The session will be aired on Bob’s weekend Radio 2 show on March 23rd between midnight and 3am, so if you fancy a listen be sure to tune in or get it on the iPlayer at a more sociable hour I guess!
I’ve also got a few things coming up to let you know about, both local to us Devon folk and further afield…
This Tuesday (25th Feb) highly acclaimed Nashville singer/songwriter Hugh Moffatt is visiting this part of the world to play a show at The Dolphin in Beer (EX12 3EQ). Alan West, Steve Black and myself will be opening what’s sure to be a special night in this wonderfully intimate setting. There are still a few tickets available at £10, which can be reserved by calling 07773 768110.
On Thursday (27th Feb) I will be in nearby Seaton for a special ‘Steak and Blues’ night at The Shed Steakhouse (EX12 2LW). Joining me to help deliver the blues portion of the evening will be my inimitable buddy Dean Barnes on guitar. There are still a few tables left, so for more info and to reserve yours head to www.theshedsteakhouse.co.uk…I’ve already sampled the steak of course…it’s a bit good!
Next weekend sees me leaving the West Country for a few days and heading back to London for a couple of solo shows and some more radio. On Sunday 2nd March I’ll be playing a set at The Old Queens Head in Islington (N1 8LN), where I’ll be taking to the stage at 5pm. Then on Tuesday 4th March I’ll be at The Bedford in Balham (SW12 9HD) - doors open at 7:30 for this one. I’m really looking forward to playing these new venues, and if any of you are able to come along and show your support I’d love to see you there.
So, plenty happening to keep me busy for now. We’re in the process of booking more dates all over the UK, but I’ll let you know more on that soon. In the meantime if there’s anywhere you’d like me to come and play then let me know and we’ll try and add it to the list!
And if you still haven’t heard the new album yet, don’t forget you can order it or download it straight from the website at www.adamsweetmusic.com.
Take care and hopefully see you around soon,
Adam
