Hello friends, time for another quick update from me. It’s been a hectic but hugely enjoyable summer, meeting and playing to familiar faces and plenty of new ones too. Thanks to all of you have recently signed up to the mailing list…I will do my best to keep you all up to date with any interesting news or developments!
Live EP and New Album
My live EP ‘I Work Alone’ released a few months ago has been selling well and I’ve been getting some kind feedback from you guys. There are still plenty of copies available though so if anyone has missed out at a gig then please head over to the website where you can order one. However, while I’ll happily keep selling copies of the live EP to you lovely people the next job is to finally get to work on the studio album I’ve been threatening to do for ages now! Well, it’s still early days but the writing is coming along nicely and we have already started laying down a couple of basic guitar tracks. Now that the summer madness is starting to die down we should be able to start making some real good progress on it. I’ll keep you informed as we go along, and as we get stuck into it I’ll try and let you know how it’s gonna sound!
Upcoming…
The summer may be drawing to a close, but there are still plenty of gigs happening this September. The last outdoor festival gig of the year will be at ‘WattsFest’ nr Uffculm, Devon this Friday 7th Sep. The following Friday (the 14th) I am very pleased to be featuring in the annual Acoustica Festival hosted by the Exeter Phoenix, and the week after that I will supporting Detroit singer-songwriter Billy Brandt at two dates in Exeter as part of his UK tour. I also have gigs throughout September at some of my very favourite local venues, including the Nags Head in Lyme Regis and the Volunteer in Sidmouth. And to top it all off I’m finishing the month with my first ever trip to Scotland for a mini six-day tour around Glasgow and beyond…can’t wait! Full details of all the gigs can be found on the website – www.adamsweetmusic.com
‘I Work Alone’…well, not always
I’ve been having a lot of fun with my rock trio The Perfect Strangers over the last few weeks, but we have a month off now until our next few outings. But for over a year now I have also been guitarist for the Sweet Black Angels, and this Sunday we are hitting the road once again to play at the official Noel Gallagher after show party in Cardiff. We are playing a set at the Tiger Tiger club after Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds finish in the Motorpoint Arena…should be one hell of a party! We still have a few spaces left on the bus, so if any of you would like to join us then please get in touch.
That’s all for now, take care and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!
Adam
