Hey guys. This is the second update of the year so far…thanks for taking a moment to read this and hello to all of the new friends who have signed up to the mailing list this month.
So the main news this month is that my live EP “I Work Alone” is finally ready for you! It is a live recording of my entire set at the NEO Music launch night back in November, mixed and mastered afterwards by Thomm Jutz at tjtunes in Nashville. It came out good and serves as a great record of where my music is at this point in time. It is available now at gigs for £5, but it is also available to buy online from my website www.adamsweetmusic.com and will be on iTunes shortly. I hope you enjoy it, and that it keeps you entertained for now until I get into the studio!
In terms of gig news, there are plenty of local shows for all you Devonians coming up this weekend….
Thursday 26th – Steve Black @ The Dolphin Hotel, Beer. 7:45pm, £8.
My friend and recent songwriting partner Steve Black is performing a series of one-man shows all this week, showcasing a mixture of his songwriting, comedy and story telling, and I’ll be joining him for a few tunes on Thursday night. No doubt we’ll play a couple of songs we have recently worked on, some we haven’t and probably some I’ve never even heard before!
Friday 27th – “The Perfect Strangers” live at The Axminster Inn, from 9pm.
Playing with my rock band The Perfect Strangers on Friday. Was packed out last time we played here, looking forward to heading back to the Ax to do it all again!
Saturday 28th – Pavilion Theatre, Exmouth, 12pm – 2pm.
Playing the first of a series of afternoon outdoor double-header acoustic gigs to be held at the Pavilion Theatre on Exmouth’s sea front. If the weather is as grim as it has been so far this week we’ll be setting up inside, but should be a great afternoon either way. Local duo The Billycocks will be the opening act.
Saturday 28th – The Volunteer, Sidmouth, from 9pm
After the Exmouth gig in the day I’m heading along the coast to Sidmouth to play one of my regular venues…always a great crowd here!
Sunday 29th – Bath House, Exmouth, with Paddy Blight, 3pm – 6pm
Me and my good buddy Paddy are joining forces once again! The plan is for a chilled out afternoon of acoustic music in the sun out on the Bath House patio…but who knows what will actually happen!! In the likely event that the sun doesn’t want to come out we’ll be setting up inside, and for the small number of you out there that don’t know of Paddy check out his most excellent band the Walkhards…. www.walkhards.co.uk
Anyway that’s all for the moment, plenty more news coming soon but for now I’ll look forward to seeing some of you out there this weekend!
Cheers,
Adam
