Hello friends,
Time for another long overdue update from me…you know I don’t like to bother you more than I have to, but as summer arrives it seems the gigs start hotting up too, so here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks that you ought to know about…
On Friday 27th May I’ll be welcoming the start of summer with folk singer-songwriter Saskia Griffiths-Moore as we play a special double-header acoustic concert at the Dorchester Arts Centre. We’ve shared the bill at a couple of shows already this year and it’s worked a treat, and I’m sure this night will be no exception…head over to dorchesterarts.org.uk for more details and to get your tickets.
Saturday 28th May I’ll be teaming up with my buddies Alan West & Steve Black for a lunchtime concert at the Axminster Arts Café. The music starts at midday and if the sun’s out we’ll be on the outdoor stage.
The rest of the May Bank Holiday will see me at the Lyme Regis Jazz & Blues Festival…on Sunday afternoon I’ll be on the Marine Parade stage at 3pm, and on the evening of Monday 30th I’ll be playing at The Town Mill from 5-7pm. Go to www.lymeregisjazzfestival.co.uk for the full lineup of the weekend-long festival, which includes some other good friends of mine…check it out.
On Friday 3rd June I’m really looking forward to returning to the Subscription Rooms in Stroud, especially as I get to share the bill with my very good friends from Detroit Billy Brandt and Sarana VerLin for a special ‘Transatlantic Session’ as part of the Stroud Americana Festival. Full info and tickets for this weekend long festival of blues, roots and country from both sides of the pond can be found at www.stroudamericanafestival.co.uk
So that’s plenty to be getting on with for now I’d say, not to mention the regular gigs around Devon and Dorset which keep rolling on. As always a full gig list can be found at adamsweetmusic.com/shows.
And finally, if you’re after some live music in East Devon tomorrow (Wednesday) night, I can strongly recommend heading to The Bellows at The Wheelwright in Colyford where you have the rare opportunity to catch award winning Canadian singer songwriter Sarah MacDougall as she visits this part of the world on her UK tour. Alan West and myself will be playing a short opening set, so if you fancy it I’ll see you there! You’ll find full details and tickets at www.wheelwrightinn.com/what-s-on
I’ll be in touch with more gig and festival news in a few weeks. Until then take care and I hope to see you somewhere out there soon.
Best wishes,
Adam
