Hope you’re all well - it’s been a few months since my last mail-out. After releasing Backstop in January I’ve mostly had my head down in the studio putting the finishing touches to the rest of the album tracks…more news on that very soon.

I’m really looking forward to getting back out and playing some gigs this month, so here’s what’s coming up:

I kick things off next week with a couple of acoustic duo shows with my bandmate Paddy Blight on double bass. We’ll be at Bomba in Exeter on Wednesday 13th and Chittlehampton Village Hall on Friday 15th. Then the full band come together for our debut appearance at Dart Music Fest on the 17th - catch us on the main stage on the Sunday afternoon. We round off the month at Sidmouth Jazz & Blues Festival on Saturday 23rd May.

Tickets are also now on sale for our Autumn tour. We’ll be playing a mix of new venues and returning favourites, including The Stables 2 in Milton Keynes, Hanger Farm in Southampton, the Tuesday Night Music Club, Chapel Arts Centre in Bath and the Beehive in Honiton.

My new single ‘Backstop’ is out today. I’m proud to finally be able to share it with you all. 

Anyone who’s been to one of our shows over the last year or so will know how special this one is. It’s become a real highlight of the live set and never fails to deliver a true “pin-drop” moment. I think we’ve captured some of that magic in this recording. 

The song is a co-write with my friend Hugh Moffatt, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists including Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Jerry Lee Lewis and Merle Haggard. It’s an honour to collaborate with him. 

Backstop was recorded in The Mortuary Studio last year, featuring my stellar band mates Garry Kroll on drums and percussion, Paddy Blight on bass and Tom Hughes on organ, with some lush harmony vocals from Paddy and Garry too. 

It was produced and mixed by myself and mastered by Alex McCullough at True East Mastering in Nashville. 

It’s available now wherever you stream your music, but I’d also encourage you to download it directly from my website. Bandcamp users will also find it there too.

Hope you’re all doing well out there. January’s a long old month, isn’t it? I hope you’re staying safe in this relentless stormy weather. 

I’m pleased to say that this Friday, 30th January, I’ll be releasing my new single ‘Backstop’. It’s been a while since I’ve released some new original music, so I’m pretty excited.

Hope you’re all keeping well and feeling suitably festive! 🎄

It’s been a while since my last mail out and we’ve had a lot of new subscribers since then - so if you're new here then a very warm welcome to you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support this year and wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

With the band we’ve had a great year playing to new audiences at venues across the country and we’re really looking forward to lots more live shows in 2026. 

I have one more band gig with Garry, Paddy and Tom this year at Ashburton Arts Centre on Monday 29th December. This is hosted by our friends at ‘Not Only but Also the Blues’ who have been running a regular blues night here on the last Monday of the month for a number of years now. We’re really pleased to have been asked to headline this year’s Christmas Bonanza Special, which also features Gigi & the Grits supporting. Tickets have been flying out apparently, but there are still a few available if you're in need of some live music to fill the Christmas/New Year void! Tickets are available HERE 

The first gig of the new year is an acoustic trio show at the wonderful Bridge Inn in Topsham on Saturday 10th January. I’m afraid this one has already SOLD OUT, but thanks to all of you who snapped up the tickets so quickly!

The final, and most exciting bit of news, is that we’re starting 2026 as we mean to go on with the release of some NEW MUSIC!

Hope you’re all having a great summer so far! I can’t believe we’re well into August already…

Just a few nuggets of news to update you with this month.

First up, a reminder that next Wednesday 13th August we’re playing the beautiful Acorn Theatre in Penzance, Cornwall. I’ve been lucky enough to play here a few times before but this will be the first time here with my band! Doors open at 7pm. Next up, some merch news - I’m pleased to say that T-shirts are now available to buy direct from my website! They’ve been selling well at the recent shows but it’s taken me a little while to get round to listing them on the website, so apologies for the delay. Some of the sizes have sold out already, so if your size isn’t available please let me know as I’ll be re-stocking soon.

Finally, a heads-up about our next batch of full-band shows happening in the Autumn, starting on the Isle of Wight on the 3rd October:

Hey folks,

Hope you’re all keeping well. It’s been great to see so many new subscribers recently, so if you’re new here then hello and welcome!

I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to the shows this Spring. Every gig was a new venue for us and every one of them was a cracker. It’s such a pleasure to perform with Garry, Paddy and Tom and we look forward to hopefully returning to these venues again soon (some we’ve rebooked already for 2026!…)

Summer is a little quieter on the gig front, but don’t worry! We’re making good use of this time in the studio to record the new material we’ve been trying out on you at the recent shows, as well as some songs that haven’t been aired at all yet. The reaction to the new stuff has been so positive and encouraging that I really can’t wait to record and release some new music! We’ve made a start in The Mortuary Studio but on Sunday we head down to Momentum Studios in Plymouth where the serious work will begin! I’ll keep you updated as to how we’re getting on over on the socials.

That’ll keep us busy but there are still a few gigs to look out for in the coming weeks…

This Saturday 21st June we play a Summer Solstice Special at Coldharbour Farm, Ottery St Mary. They’re not hosting their Solstice Festival this year so instead it’s just us playing a Saturday night gig out on the deck as the sun goes down. Music starts at 7pm. Entry is free but you need to book a table - give them a call on 07379 873931.

Sunday 6th July we play Ruckus Live festival at Brickfields in Plymouth. It’s a 3 day event and on the Sunday alone the lineup includes The Specials, Neville Staple, Aynsley Lister and more! Full details for this one over at https://ruckus.live/

Wednesday 13th August we’re taking a trip to Penzance to play the beautiful Acorn Theatre. I’ve had the pleasure of playing here a few times but this will be the first time bringing my full band. Tickets are ON SALE NOW at https://www.theacornpenzance.com/events/adam-sweet-band/
